Settling in

Now that all the summer craziness has ended and everyone is settled into their schools/jobs, Andrew and I are really settling into a routine.

Mondays- I work out in the schools after noon, Andrew gets quality playtime with Daddy.
Tuesdays- Andrew and I go the Dalton's where I lead a preschool Bible story time. Then, after being smothered in kisses from grandmas of all shapes, sizes, and relation, we continue to either Mom and Dad's house or my Nana and Papa's house for our bi-weekly visit.
Wednesdays- in general, this is our day at home. I work some but only from home. Small group with Andrew's friend Susan (10 months old) at night.
Thursdays- I am back out in the schools with knitting group in the afternoon and family night at my parents' in the evening. More Andrew-Daddy time
Fridays-wild card day, anything can happen (after Andrew's morning nap that is) :)
Weekends are spent bouncing back and forth between my folks and Josh's, marveling at all the dude can do.

Does life get any better than this?

Here are some snapshots of how exquisitely happy we are:

Freshman Move-in

Whew! What a weekend! We moved Sara in to her new dorm on Thursday and Robin on Friday. Thanks to my fantastic mother, both girls have adorable rooms.

Drew cheering Papa up as he moved his baby girl to WCU

Checking out the view from Sara's room.

Those of you who saw my dorm room will notice the similar set up, even the same chair: our great grandmother's. Sara's room is even better because Momma and Papa managed to add another closet to the right of the bed.

Baby is so tired.

DAY 2

She survived her first night!

Daddy set up the girls' computers and printers.

Testing out Aunt Robin's new bed

The dorm room fairy

The boys were *ahem* really glad they didn't miss this.

Even Nana and Papa came to assist and admire.

It was really hot in Robin's dorm (no air) so Andrew spent a lot of time
rehydrating.

I think they are both pretty happy. :)

Last Days of Emily

Emily goes back to school tomorrow. (insert world's largest sad face) we won't even talk about Sara leaving on Thursday and Robin leaving on Friday. I can't even go there. Traitors.

But we have been enjoying Emily these last few days. Here are some highlights.

He sits so patiently for Scott while He cuts his nails. He cuts them with the scissors on his pocket knife.

Resting his head on Grandpa's hand. Such a good baby.
Andrew has been blowing raspberries for weeks but this week he has been perfecting what it turns out is a high art.

I just love this kid!

Catch up

I went to clear my camera card today and found a bunch of pictures and video that I hadn't put on the blog yet.

YouTube Video

Andrew climbing Sara's bass at a performance. My mom captured his reflection in the finish. Cool.

Drawing lessons with Aunt Emily.

Napping with Papa

First exposure to moss.

For this video he was laughing way harder before we got the camera out, but still his face is so sweet in it.

Andrew drinks out of a straw now. It's his favorite morning treat.

More forts. We bought him a new car seat today (on sale! Yes!) and Aunt Emily taught him how to turn it into a play house.

Hello in there!

This is pretty cool!

I love this kid!

Andrew found a fort at Nana and Papa's house today.

Shortly after, he heard himself as I was watching the last video on my iPad.

Josh's New Blog

Josh and I are working on building a photography business. He has a new blog that he will post his pictures on weekly. He's amazing. Just saying. :) See the link to the right.

A Day at Nana's

Andrew got to spend the day at my mom's yesterday. He was adorable, as always.

Andrew learned a new trick: if he blows on the leather sofa it makes a real funny boy sounds. Sara's friend Patric took the video but he took it sideways. I had to put it up anyway. It is too funny.

Also Andrew got some more music lessons from Papa.

The dudelet's other new trick is drinking through a straw. That's how he prefers to take a bottle now when I am at work.
Speaking of work, I am very excited to announce that I will get to stay on with the school system here as a behavior consultant, working part time helping teachers with challenging students develop strategies to help those students be successful. It is a really flexible schedule so I still get to spend as much time with my baby as possible! God is very good. :)
