Family Day

Since today was a work day and I had one swap day left, I opted to stay at home with my boys. Many of you know that Josh works 3 12 hour shifts a week: Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. That schedule is great for keeping Andrew because he only has to stay away from home one day a week, but it isn't great for Josh and I getting to hang out together much. :-( Fortunately there are only 47 more days of school.

Anyway, today was a family day for us. We walked the lake since it was 75 degrees and Josh took about a thousand gorgeous pictures. Here are the highlights:

We thought we were all done taking pictures for the day but then Andrew got smile-y, so Josh broke out the camera again. Unfortunately for smile-capturing, Drew finds the camera very interesting.

Isn't he the sweetest?

Sunday Dinner

We had tacos at Grandma and Grandpa's today after church. Andrew was showing off his new trick, which is even better than yesterday. Papa Robins is very motivating.

When they play, Papa Robins is Amos and Andrew is Andy. Andrew thinks it is a hit.

We went to GrandNana and Papa's today so they could visit with Adam. He came home for the weekend. My poor parents are missing it because they are on a romantic trip to Charleston, so don't feel too bad for them. Andrew wore his Davy Crockett outfit again today so the great-grandparents could see it. Terri sewed fringe on a brown sweat suit he had and I knitted the coonskin hat.

After a while we had to get out of the costume. It's just not that comfy, stylish though it may be. Andrew flirted with Sara and then demonstrated his new trick: holding his head up. I included video for proof. Mom and Dad and Nana and Papa are all standing around, so that is who is making all the noise.

Andrew is also getting to be an expert talker. It still takes him about 5 minutes to get warmed up and remember how to do it, but it is really cute when he gets going.

Oh, By the Way

We took this video at Winter Retreat this weekend of Andrew hitting a toy. As his Papa is always saying, he is brilliant. :-)

Dance Party

I know I already posted today, but this was just too good to wait:

Aunt Emily is home for spring break. She and Andrew had a dance party tonight after diaper change.

Bigger and Bigger

We went to the doctor today about a thrush infection Andrew and I have been fighting for a week and a half or so and the boy weighs 9 pounds 11 ounces! Huge! He gets cuter every day. When does that stop? He can hit a toy on his right side OR his left side. He loves to talk to us. Sometimes he can't make it happen, but you can see it in his eyes. :-) He is a pro at holding his head up, even when we are bouncing or burping him. He is just a genius.

We took a video this morning of his cuteness:

We have been super busy lately. After we got back from Charlotte we started preparing for our church youth group's winter retreat. Andrew and I were cabin councilors for Maple A, the high school girls' cabin. He was the one exception to the "no boys in girls' cabins" rule. He did great, although by Sunday morning he was a bit overstimulated. (To be honest, so was his mommy.) He didn't wake up too much at night either, which was great for the girls. Still, they said waking up at 5:30 to an infant's cry is excellent birth control. :-)

Thursday we leave for Florida, a trip we are really looking forward to. We will get to see so many people we know mostly through these blog thingys, specifically Betsy's Andrew, who I have never actually met in person. Stoked! Pray for the boy and my mom and I as we face an 11 hour car ride. Pray for Andrew's daddy too, as he will be very sad without us.
