As you probably know by now our dear Emily is changing the world with World Changers, a section of the North American Mission Board that organizes high school students into crews to work on houses in cities across the country and world. Emily is on summer staff on a team of four and for the last three weeks has been running sound for worship and video taping the events on Birmingham, AL. It has been a whole month since we saw her. Too dang long. So this weekend Scott, Lisa, Ben, Josh, Andrew and I piled into the Suburban and headed for Alabama. Drew is such a good road trip baby. He rode patiently (mostly) from state to state, restaurant to coffee shop, Target to BestBuy while we waited for Emily to be free so he could hug her. She is doing an amazing job. We are so proud of her hard working spirit and her willingness to be used by God this summer. Yea Em!
Here are some of the better shots from the weekend:

I missed you!

Mommy, one day can I be a World Changer?

What does that button do?

Holding hands with his ugly doll.

One of our many "five minute stretch breaks" we took along the way.
Drew went swimming for the first time too.

He loved it. He kept trying to grab the water. Cute guy.
We visited a church in AL called The Church at Brook Hills and heard an amazing sermon preached on Psalm 127. The pastor talked a lot about the analogy or children being like arrows that God gives us to load and aim at the right targets, pouring into them our love for Christ and aiming them at ways in which they might serve him. I couldn't stop thinking about what a great job our parents have done at aiming us, especially in light of what brought us to AL in the first place. Josh and I pray everyday that we are aiming Andrew in the direction God wants him to go.
