Snow! Among other things

It snowed last weekend just enough for Andrew to have some quintessential snow experiences, like eating snow:

And sledding, more or less:

Mostly Andrew is obsessed with tools, the new house, and who might be working at the new house. I guess this really reflects our recent focus...

Last days of 1...

A budding percussionist

He looks so big except for that pasie

Andrew and Sophie

One of the highlights of Andrew's week is going to church. And with such good friends to rock with, why wouldn't he?

YouTube Video

Andrew's recent obsession is the horse pasture in my parents' development. We talk about the horse, eating apples, tickling papa's hand, sleeping in the barn, etc, at least 3 times a day

We have started a new tradition of family worship in the evening, which involves music, dancing, the Bible, prayer, and generally silliness:

Turns out almost 2 is silly a lot of the time.

Fleenor Family of 23

Over Christmas break, all of Scott's family came to visit. It was the first time the whole Fleenor clan had been together since Josh and I got married.

Andrew really bonded with Taryn, Stefani's youngest sweetie. I think Taryn enjoyed not being the baby for once :)

Lisa had the brilliant idea to make Mini-Marshmallow Shooters for all the kids so they could have their traditional Christmas battle.

YouTube Video

In true Fleenor fashion, Scott ramped it up and attached his to an air compressor so it could shoot either fistfuls of mini marshmallows or the jumbo kind.

YouTube Video

Andrew was in awe, and a little nervous.

Of course, for Andrew it wasn't all about the battle. There were marshmallows in his pocket, after all.

It was a wonderful week.

Rock Box

Andrew is spending a lot of time at his grandmothers' houses lately while I work through a major work project. Today he went to Nana's and she had...

a plastic box with fish tank gravel, shells, and plastic fish.

It was a little bit of a hit.

YouTube Video

Nana said he played for 2.5 hours and was so focused he could hardly talk.

Sensory box should definitely be on the top of to-do lists for mothers of 2 year olds.

Christmas Craziness

YouTube Video

Yes! Come Lord Jesus!

Our Christmas was wonderful and crazy. We had 4 present sessions in the space of 2 days. When Andrew woke up the day after Christmas he wanted to know where the presents were. Sorry baby! The rest of the days are just regular. :)

Crazy Christmas hair

Check out this grin:

The biggest hit of both days was the tool set Nana and Papa gave him.

There was a lot of Wii played over break. Andrew got particularly good at the sword fighting game.

YouTube Video

This virtual swordplay transferred to wrapping paper tubes:

Which Aunt Emily made look even more realistic:

He started acting "slain" after a while. He would lay down on the ground and say "Ok? Ok?"

YouTube Video

He got a train set from Grandma and Grandpa:

This is blurry, but it is the only picture of a bow on his head I could get. He is not a fan.

Everyone was very concerned about getting back their MarioKart skills back before the cousins came.

More about their visit later.
