Bread Bowl Baby

Andrew and I went to Grand-Nana and Papa's today for lunch with my mom and dad. My mom had the great idea (which I think she got from pictures of Isaiah) to put Andrew in a bread bowl for some pictures. Behold the cuteness:

I mean seriously. Have you seen anything cuter? I just don't know how to go on with life loving someone so much. It's all different now.

More of these pictures on Shutterfly. See the link to the right. :-)

Andrew's Aunts are Awesome

Wow, so much alliteration. :-)

It has been a week filled with visits from aunts.

This past Saturday he wore his overalls from Aunt Jennifer. So cute.

Aunt Kathy and Aunt Janet came for a visit that day too.

Josh's Aunt Stefani and her oldest daughter Hannah flew in for the week from Colorado Springs. It has been such a treat to get to spend some time with them. We do NOT see them enough. Andrew agrees.

Josh's Aunt Shawn and her family also came in last weekend.

Emily came in from Appalachian on Wednesday to see him. She only got to come in for two days when Andrew was born. I have been sending her a picture on her phone every day while she has been away, but she needed some snuggles. More pictures of the two of them later. They make a great pair. :-)

We are still totally fascinated with this guy. On Sunday he really started focusing on people's faces, which is soooo cool. It makes diaper changes take a lot longer though, because we end up staring at each other.

His grandmas have gotten to spend lots of time with him this week too. We need to see them every day or all of four of us start to go a little crazy.

Also, an update on Adam: we got to talk to him yesterday on the phone and he sounded great. He did have a piece of bad news. The unit he was originally a part of is also in Afghanistan and the guy they have that does his job got sick or something and had to go home, so they need someone else. They have a lieutenant picked to fill the spot, but if for some reason he can't go, Adam is next in line and he would have to stay with them until June instead of coming home the last week of March. He said that what this unit is doing is even less dangerous than what he is doing now, so it wouldn't be awful if he had to go, but of course he would rather come home. So, prayers please.

When he called, he promised that when he gets home he will spend 24 hours playing Halo and staring at Andrew with Josh and me. Then this morning Andrew and Josh were hanging out and I had to send Adam a picture:

Ha! Funny boys.

We have started swaddling Andrew at night to help him sleep. He startles less in his dreams when he is all wrapped up snug. The other morning Josh brought him to me in bed in his swaddler and he was this blue lump with a sweet little head. I was looking at his head and thinking, "How can you love a single part of a person that much?" It is the most beautiful head I have ever seen. We can't believe how much we love him.

Also...Man Pasies!

We found these at Walmart yesterday and couldn't resist them. We sent pictures to Uncle Adam. Andrew is ready for adventure!

One week old

Just like Jesus, Andrew had to go though some pretty yucky stuff after 1 week of life. We went to the doctor yesterday to get circumcised, and it was not fun. He did great though, better than Mommy and Daddy. They weighed him and he is now 8 lbs 6 oz. He has gained 9 oz in 4 days, little piggy. We also went to Walmart for the first time and to Nana and Papa's house for dinner. It was a big day.

Today we meet Aunt Shawn, Scott's sisters and tomorrow Aunt Kathy, Jessy, Leila, and Aunt Stefani. It is going to be a big weekend of family.

Now for the good stuff:

Grandma came over on Wednesday and helped us with our first bath. :-)

Of course as soon as we were clean, we nursed and got milk all over us. Drat Mommy's overactive let-down. :-)

There is nothing in life better than this.

Andrew's Awesome

Five days later, we are still in love. :-)

Josh is addicted to letting Andrew sleep on him. Drew gets great sleep this way. I think Daddy's heartbeat is comforting. We are trying to control ourselves and only do this for daytime naps and let Andrew stay in his cradle for nights. It's tough though when you have something this snuggly.

We went out today to see Daddy and give him a Drew-fix to help him get though his first day back at work. We have this awesome car seat blanket that keeps him toasty warm, thanks to Jessy and Aunt Kathy. :-)

When we got Andrew to the Center, we realized he and Daddy almost matched.

Papa got to show off Andrew also. He has many adoring fans across Haywood County.

Since it was Josh's first day back at work, my mom came over and stayed the day with us. I am so thankful for her. How people do this without their mothers I will never know. Since she was here, Andrew modeled some of his cuter outfits for her.

Mommy got to be in some of the pictures too.

I made these shoes for Andrew in May at Fiddler's Grove just after we found out we were pregnant.

I think we look good together. :-)
